A land feud took a violent turn in Bishnupur village under the Simulia police limits in the district when a man allegedly hacked his younger brother to death on Tuesday.
Reports said Kailash Majhi and his younger brother Suresh had a heated altercation over construction of the latter’s house on a patch of land.
Suddenly, in a fit of rage Kailash attacked Suresh with a sharp weapon leaving him critically injured.
The victim was rushed to the Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, where he succumbed to the injuries.
After the incident Kailash fled from the spot. Police have started investigation into the incident after lodging a case under relevant sections of the IPC and launched a hunt to nab Kailash.
