Man held for killing wife in Garhwa

A man allegedly hacked her 32 year-old-wife to death over a family dispute at Padhua village under Meral police station here on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Sima Devi, whose husband Akhilesh Sao and mother in law Sumitra Devi were arrested by police.

Police said that at around 8.30 morning today, Akhilesh hit his wife with an axe following a heated argument with her in-laws over some domestic issues leaving her dead. Hearing the cries of the 8 years old son of deceased, a mob of villagers reached the spot and found dead the deceased in the house.

After executing the incident, all the accused hid in the house of the former Mukhiya of Padhua panchayat Awadh Kishore Deo and they stated him her daughter-in-law was dead. Former Mukhiya informed the Meral police.

Police somehow wanted to get out from there with the accused so that no major incident happens.  But the furious people surrounded the in front of police jeep and made a ruckus for about 2 hours.

Meral Police Station in-charge Rameshwer Upadhyay said, "Due to the alertness of police, a major incident was averted.

The crowd was so fierce that the possibility of a major event happening cannot be ruled out."

Police sent the dead body for post mortem.
