Hanumanganj police have booked a miscreant for opening fire at a 43-year-old crane operator at Old Categoried Market late in the evening on Thursday. Police said that the accused identified as Ashu alias Raji opened fire at the victim identified as Rizwan Khan of Jhinsi and works as crane operator.
Investigating Officer SI Udayveer Singh Bhadoria said that the victim was shot twice by the accused but victim managed to escape and later lodged a complaint.
The two have old dispute over money which remained unsettled and late in the evening victim and accused entered a verbal spate after which the accused left the spot and returned after sometime riding a scooter and stopped near the victim and shot twice aiming at victim’s head but he escaped the shots. The accused escaped the spot along with his accomplice, he added.
The accused has been booked earlier by Hanumanganj police and was booked by other police stations of the state capital. Panic prevailed in the area when the accused opened fired as the area remains busy and traders and locals were shocked to find firing in the area with the intent to kill someone.
The locals told the police that victim tried to convince but accused continued with verbal spate and later opened fire at the victim. In the firing no one was injured as the accused missed both the shots fired at the victim, case registered.
