A man allegedly bludgeoned his friend to death with an iron rod over a dispute at Kaniari village under the Kabisuryanagar police station in Ganjam district on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Kartik Pradhan. A brawl had erupted between Kartik and his friend two days ago over a dispute.
While Kartik was sleeping at the verandah of his house at night, his friend hit him with an iron rod leading to his death on the spot, alleged the deceased’s family members.
On the basis of a complaint lodged by them, police have detained the accused for questioning and investigation is underway. The body was been sent for postmortem.
