Ratibad police have nabbed a 23-year-old youth for sexually assaulting a 17-year –old girl at Kerwa Dam; accused sexually exploited victim for the past one year.
SHO of Ratibad police Aditi Bhavsar said that the victim is a resident of Nathu Barkheda area and is a student of class XII while the accused identified as Vishu Jatav took her to Kerwa Dam and raped her and later continued to sexually exploited her for past one year.
The accused is her neighbour and works as security guard and the two were acquainted with each other since their childhood.
In her complaint, victim stated that on August 31 last year the accused offered her for outing and took victim to Kerwa dam and raped her at secluded place and putting vermillion on her forehead claimed that victim is now his wife after which accused raped her for the first time. After the incident accused raped the victim was sexually assaulted several times by the accused. Later when the families of both victim and accused came to know about their relationship, the accused refused to marry her.
The victim annoyed over the refusal victim approached Ratibad police station along with her parents and reported the matter after which accused was booked under sections 376 (2) (N) and 506 of the IPC and sections 3 and 4 of POCSO Act and was later arrested by police. The accused was sent under judicial custody after he was produced in the court on Thursday.
