A 55-year old man was mowed down by a speeding low floor bus near Ashima Mall under Misrod police station area in the evening on Monday.
The deceased identified as Bhanwarlal was hit by a speeding truck while he was trying to cross road. The locals rushed the injured to hospital where he was declared dead.
The incident took place late in the evening. The low floor bus driver bearing registration number MP04-PA-2230 lost control over the vehicle and mowed down Bhanwarlal.
The deceased sustained multiple injuries which caused his dead. After the preliminary investigation the bodies were sent for the post mortem. The police have registered a case under section 304 (A) of the IPC. The deceased used to work at a hotel and was a resident of Ganesh Nagar.
On the day of the incident he along with his son had gone Ashima Mall and after visiting the mall when the two came out they tried to cross road but Bhanwarlal was hit by a speeding low floor bus.
Panic prevailed among the passengers of the low floor bus as soon after the incident fearing that he would be attacked and harmed driver of the bus left the spot and escaped which created panic among the passengers who were not aware of the accident. The driver would be arrested based on the registration number of the vehicle which was seized from the spot by the police. The police have recorded statements of his son and started further investigation.
