The Delhi Police has arrested four men who used to fire at random targets for practice and injured a person in Dwarka's Bindapur area last week.
The accused have been identified as Pawan (22), Vishal (23), Parveen (22) and Kishan (23), police said adding that three pistols, along with 13 live cartridges, were recovered from their possession.
On August 29 at around 3.30 am, four masked
and armed assailants on opened fire at one Sunny and injured him. They fired one shot in the air and another on his stomach. The victim was rushed to DDU Hospital, said Anto Alphonse, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka).
Two empty cartridges were found lying on the spot.
During investigation, police followed the route of the accused and after thorough analysis of more than 100 CCTV footage, they reached at a spot and zero down that the accused terminated their journey within 12 houses in the street of Ram Dutt Enclave in
Uttam Nagar, following which Pawan, Vishal, Prakash and Kishan were arrested, the DCP said.
Interrogation revealed that the gang used to go on a joyride during late night and target victims on street. In this incident, they fired on Sunny just for the target practice. They further revealed that the weapon was provided by one Amir, who is presently lodged in Tihar Jail, said the DCP
