Jharkhand Vikas Morcha chief Babulal Marandi today flayed the Government on the issue of “industrial slump in Jharkhand and rising unemployment” in the State and said that the industries are being closed in the State due to the policies of the self-proclaimed double engine Government of the BJP. Marandi said that in the last five years, the Government has wasted hard-earned money of people just for the sake of bringing investment in the State.
“The Government has organised different events including road shows, momentum Jharkhand and wasted Rs 900 crore of public money. On the other hand, no investment could be brought in the State in comparison with the amount spent for the purpose. The BJP Government did 500 MoUs for investment of Rs 3,500 crore. The companies that signed the MoUs did not invest in the State. During the Arjun Munda Government of BJP, several MoUs were signed. The BJP should give account of the money spent to the people of the State,” said Marandi addressing media persons here on Wednesday.
The former CM said that by organising Momentum Jharkhand, the State Government has done the work of flying elephants. “Hundreds of small and big industries are on the verge of closure in Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bokaro, Ramgarh districts due to the policies of majority and double engine Government. Many industries were also closed. The sponge iron industry in Giridih is also facing a slump. For the first time in the State, business organisations protested against the Government's policies by putting hoarding near the Chief Minister's residence and questioned the functioning of the Government,” he added.
Marandi sought white paper from the Government on the matter. The Government should give account of how much money was spent on bringing investment in State.
