Saturday, 02 November 2019 | PNS | Haridwar

At a time when the Municipal Corporation of Haridwar (MCH) is said to suffering from considerable financial liabilities, a letter from the camp office of Cabinet Minister and Haridwar MLA Madan Kaushik has elicited criticism from the mayor Anita Sharma.

In the letter sent earlier on October to the MCH, the camp office the corporation has been asked to provide 35 items for sanitation and functioning of the camp office.

These items range from brooms and detergents to tea leaves, printer cartridge and stationery items.

The letter has also gone viral on the social media.

The list of items sought from the MCH by the minister’s camp office includes 30 litres of phenyl, 25 Harpic toilet cleaners, 30 units of hand-wash 30, 20 Dettol soaps, 15 units of whiteners, five dozen glasses, 20 packets of pens, 20 room freshners, paper rims, detergent bars and powder, pads, towels, tea leaves, mosquito repellent, staplers and so on.

Haridwar Mayor Anita Sharma said that at a time when the municipal corporation has unpaid dues amounting to Rs 16 crore to clear, such a demand from the cabinet minister’s camp office is not fair.
