MCD disaster management cell receives 61 complaints so far

Following spells of heavy rainfall on Thursday, many main roads in the city got waterlogged, causing major inconvenience to the public. A total of 61 complaints have been received by the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) disaster management cell so far.

An official in charge said, “We are regularly working to solve the waterlogging problem in the city. Complaints are regularly being received from various parts of the city. Three teams are working in the disaster management cell of the MCD 24x7. Four water pumps, two tractors and four JCBs are have been assigned full-time in the field to tackle the waterlogging problems in the main areas of the city. 

Meanwhile, the MCD continued its drive to demolish encroachments blocking storm water drains in the city on the directions of the municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey.

The areas covered during the drive on Thursday were from Sahastradhara parking to IT Park. Nearly four trolley items were seized by the team and two big ramps were demolished.
