In order to give proper facilities to all the 100 wards under its geographical jurisdiction, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has formed five zonal offices in the city. After the direction of the municipal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey, the decision was passed on Tuesday.
The five zonal offices are coming up in five different areas of the city. The first one would come up in Rajpur and the operating officer would be assistant city commissioner Vijal Das. The second zone is located in the MCD premises which would be headed by the senior municipal health officer R K Singh. The third is set up at Mathorawala Panchayat Bhavan which would be headed by the deputy municipal commissioner Soniya Pant while the fourth office comes up in Harawala Panchayat Bhavan to be headed by the assistant engineer Ved Prakash Badhani. The fifth comes up in Arcadia Panchayat Bhavan to be headed by the assistant city commissioner Rabindra Kumar Dayal.
It is further learnt that 20 wards have been assigned to the first zone while the second zone would look after 25 wards. While the third zone would look after 22 wards 14 wards have been included in the fourth zone. Finally, the fifth zone would include 19 wards.
