In order to provide complete solutions for road sweeping a Haryana-based private company has approached Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD). According to the officials, two vehicles have been provided by the company for conducting a trial run near Clock Tower during late night on Wednesday.
Mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ said, “It is our priority to make Dehradun clean. The vehicles that we asked for are here on trial basis. Even though the workers sweep the roads, the results are not as good as we expect. The machines attached to these vehicles can do more work than the average worker. As of now they are here on trial basis and if the results are satisfactory we will take further steps accordingly.”
When asked about the cost and the required number of such vehicles he said, “The vehicles are here on trial basis. They will be used on main roads only.
Three or four such vehicles will be enough, but anything certain can only be said after the trial run. Also, the vehicles are costly so we will also have to think about the budget preference.”
