Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) has postponed its proposed meeting on enforcement of polythene ban from August 23 to August 27. The meeting with different associations will be conducted in three phases.
MCD Vinay Shankar Pandey said, “The date of the meeting in the first phase is fixed and now it will be conducted on August 27. Members of residents’ welfare associations, merchant associations, market associations including from Dharmpur, Paltan Bazaar and Moti Bazaar and non governmental organisations will be invoted to this meeting.”
He further added, “In the second phase councillors will be invited and in the third phase members of hotel association, petrol pump associations and industries associations will be invited. The idea is to take suggestions from each sector to effectively stop the use of polythene,” said Pandey.
