Delhi Congress president Subhash Chopra on Wednesday accused the officials of Delhi Government and BJP-led municipal Corporations of entering in the houses of people forcefully in the name of checking
pollution-causing industries and also collecting money illegally.
He alleged that in the guise of shutting down polluting industries, officials were not only threatening and harassing owners of non-polluting but also extorting money from them illegally.
“Many industrialists and labourers met him on Wednesday and complained against the harassment meted out to them by the officials. Delhi is already been facing large scale unemployment and many more people will be rendered jobless if non-polluting industries are closed down due to harassment by the officials,” he added.
Chopra said that officials are harassing non-polluting industries in Government-approved industrial areas in Delhi such as Bawana, Mundka, Hasthal,
Nangli, Mayapuri and collecting money illegally by threatening industrialists to seal their units.
