A district-level dairy entrepreneurship development scheme workshop was organised by the Nabard in association with the administration and bankers here on Tuesday.
Collector SK Mohapatra inaugurating the workshop highlighted the dairy farm project supported by Central Government for starting self-employment among people. He also asked the bankers to take priority for giving dairy farm loans to beneficiaries.
For launching the project commercial banks are supplied loans for any individual or through milk cooperative society or SHGs women, subsidy is being provided by Central Government at the tune of 25% to general category people and 33% to downtrodden Dalit folks, informed Nabard District Manager Biswabhusan Mohanty.
CDVO Dr Ramesh Chandra Behera said as many as 146 dairy farmers have been given loans for dairy projects in the district in the financial year 2018-19.
