Mentally challenged minor girl sexually assaulted; case filed

A mentally unsound minor girl was sexually assaulted at Om Nagar under Jehagirabad police station area; complaint was lodged after victim was found pregnant on Saturday.

Police said that the 17-year-old girl was taken to hospital when she reported illness and where doctors confirmed that girl is seven month pregnant.

The victim’s mother took her to Sultania hospital after she reported illness where doctors after diagnosis told her mother that the victim is seven month pregnant.

The victim's parents lodged a police complaint and a case was registered of rape against the unidentified accused and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

During the investigation police found that the victim is mentally unsound and used to remain roaming in the locality. She was not able to tell the accused behind the atrocity.

Police have started search for the accused who is from the locality and was aware of the status of the accused.

Meanwhile Baghsewania polce have booked a youth for sexually assaulting his 17-year-old cousin around a month ago.     

Police said that the victim was sexually assaulted when the victim came to the house of accused for a birthday party where she was sexually assaulted. The victim was sexually assaulted and was threatened by the accused to keep mum. Later the accused started to pressurize the victim to develop relationship after which she reported the incident to parents and a complaint was lodged with the police.

Police have registered a case under section 376 of the IPC and started further investigation.
