Hailing the efforts of the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) for improving the quality of education in its schools and contributing in producing the best brain in the country, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Prakash Javdekar said on Sunday that the civic body should take lead in developing better learning process to enable the students to become best brains in the country; this will go a long way in dominating our country with its young think tanks to emerge as super intellectual power in the world.
Javdekar was speaking at first of its kind seminar called “Sahbhagita” organised by SDMC which aims to focus on craeting awareness on stress management, disaster management and special session on CPR training and providing first aid without kit.
Explaining the need of organising such programe, Javdekar said that this is unique initiative through which SDMC is providing a platform to teachers, parents and educationist for interacting, discussing and analysing the new education systems and learning processes contributing towards over all development of the students.
He also appreciated the efforts of all three municipal corporations of Delhi in giving good primary education to about 10 lakh children from economically weaker section of the society.
Addressing the gathering, Commissioner of SDMC Gynesh Bharti said that it is an opportunity to analyse the valuable suggestions received from parents and chalk out an action plan to make students better than the best as far as their keenness to learning is concerned.
“The large number of participantion is an encouraging sign which signifies the intention of parents to contribute towards the education of children,” he said. The event witnessed a huge gathering of 12000 teachers, parents and political bigwigs inclusing BJP president Manoj Tiwari, SDMC Mayor Sunita Kangra, Chairman of Standing Committee Bhupender Gupta, Leader of House Kamaljeet Sehrawat.
