Woman and Child Development Minister Imarti Devi today took part in the Balrang fairs held at various Anganwadi centres in Bhopal. She said that for the first time Children's Day is being celebrated in all Anganwadi centres of the state on the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Till now, there was a tradition of celebrating Children's Day only in schools. Imarti Devi took part in the child fairs organized at Anganwadi centres in Bhimnagar, Vallabh Nagar, Bag Sevania, Narela Shankari, Arif Nagar and Dwarka Nagar.
Minister Imarti Devi said that this time Bal Rang Mela has been organized on Children's Day at every Project Headquarters of the state. She informed that in Anganwadi centers, children of the 3 to 6 age-group are given pre-school education through games. Play Schools have been started in 313 development blocks of the state. She said that Children's Day is a good opportunity to make pre-school education interesting and to ensure community participation in it.
Woman and Child Development Minister Imarti Devi rewarded the children who won the painting, rangoli and greetings-card competition in Anganwadi centres. She awarded ‘Master Healthy’ and ‘Master Ridey’ awards to selected children. Imarti Devi also planted saplings at Vallabh Nagar and Narela Shankari anganwadi centers.
