Minister for Woman and Child Development Imarti Devi said Ekikrit Stree Shakti Karyakram will be prepared to establish coordination and for result oriented implementation of schemes, programmes, policies and Acts, which affect women directly or indirectly.
The main objective of the programme is to integrate the schemes of the state with the schemes of the centre by abolishing repeated departmental schemes. She mentioned that a decision has been taken to link this karyakram with the women related schemes/ programmes along with the schemes of Women and Child Development Department.
Imarti Devi further said that the Ekikrit Stree Shakti Karyakram would be such an umbrella, under which mutual planning and systematic monitoring of the programmes and schemes will be done for better results and effective use of resources. Under the umbrella, work for mapping different schemes and Acts, establishment of fast track court at district level for prompt justice, to handover the responsibility of women protection officer to child protection officer at block level and to give quality training to people engaged in continuous research and study on issues related to gender equality, women empowerment and security. The Ekikrit Stree Shakti Karyakram will be implemented in all the districts of the state. In 8 districts, 60 percent of the expenditure of the programme will be borne by the Mahila Shakti Kendra of the Government of India, whereas the state government will bear 40 percent expenditure. In one block of remaining 44 districts, expenditure on activities of the programme will be borne by the state government. A State Task Force would be constituted at state level under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary for constant monitoring of the programme. Principal Secretary Women and Child Development will be made secretary of the committee. Principal Secretaries Home, Education, Labour, Social Justice Health, Tribal Welfare, Panchayat and Rural Development and Law Department will be made members of the committee. District Task Force and Block Task Force Committees would be formed at district and block level.
