Minor boy duped of Rs 25,000 at BoB branch in Bairagarh

A 16-year-old youth was duped to the tune of Rs 25,000 by luring him of Rs 2.5 lakh at Bank of Baroda Bairagarh branch in the day on Monday; Bairagarh police started investigation.

Police said that the victim Jatin Ramchandani was duped by two accused who him to deposit cash at one of the accused was not having bank account.

After the victim found that he was cheated a complaint was lodged with the Bairagarh police stating that he had gone to deposit Rs 25000 in Bank of Baroda where while he was filing deposit slip one of the miscreants came and asked for deposit slip and later other appeared and claimed that he took Rs 2.5 lakh from her employer who failed to pay his salary but he do not have bank account and wanted to deposit as he could not carry cash as it would be risky.

The miscreant who came to fill deposit lured the victim that he could earn money by depositing cash in his bank account and provided Rs 25000 to the miscreants and provided Rs 2.5 lakh cash which was covered. Later when the victim opened the cash he found that it was bundle of paper and informed police.

Based on the complaint after the preliminary investigation the police have registered a case under section 420 of the IPC and started search for the accused. The victim’s father has assigned him to deposit money as he was out of town. Police said that CCTV footage of the cameras would be investigated in the investigation.
