Bharatiya Janata Party’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Mahendra Nath Pandey said that due to the collective leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah, and the hard work of party workers, the BJP achieved record success in 385 Vidhan Sabha segments in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections in the state.

“The analysis of the Lok Sabha results is an eye opener for all of us. People have reposed full faith in the leadership of the Prime Minister and the way Amit Shah has shepherded the party workers, we have reached a new goal,” Pandey said while addressing office-bearers and district presidents of the party in a meeting held here on Sunday.

The BJP state chief said the party not only got over 50 per cent of vote share but was also ahead in 385 Assembly segments, more than what the party got in UP Assembly polls in 2017. 

“The success can be gauged from the fact that the party wrested Lok Sabha seats like Amethi, Kannauj and Budaun. This is a record of sorts that we achieved because of the hard work of the party workers,” he said.

Pandey along with other party leaders elected to the Lok Sabha were felicitated in the BJP headquarters here. 

In the meeting, the organisational strategy was also chalked out. 

Party vice-president JPS Rathore has been made in-charge of membership campaign and Govind Narain Shukla and Devesh Kori its coordinators.

The party calendar was also released, according to which meeting of district presidents and members will be held from June 26 to 30. 

The membership drive will be launched from July 6 and continue till August 10.
