Modi has given transparent, corruption-free govt: Naqvi

Monday, 18 February 2019 | PNS | Lucknow

Claiming that the Narendra Modi government in the last five years had given a transparent and corruption-free government, Bharatiya Janata Party’s senior leader and Union Minister for Minority Welfare Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi launched party’s pre-poll programme, Bharat ki Mann ki Baat, Modi ke Saath’ to apprise the people of the achievements of the National Democratic Alliance government.

The suggestions given by the people will be incorporated in party’s Sankalp Patra (poll manifesto) for 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

“Before the poll dates are announced, the BJP leaders will cover the entire country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari by attending meetings and programmes to make people aware of the achievements of the government and seek their suggestions for the Sankalkp Patra,” he told reporters here on Sunday.

Naqvi said that around 200 senior leaders of the party, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Amit Shah, Union ministers, senior party leaders and chief ministers were campaigning daily somewhere or the other in the country to apprise people of the party’s achievements and its future goals if another tenure of five years was given to Modi.

“The 2014 election was fought to end corruption in the country and it has been achieved to some extent. During our around five-year rule, we have given a government of authority, justice and honesty,” he said, adding that the Modi government was the first in the country which presented its report card of five years and goal for the next five years.

The Union minister said the success in ending corruption could be gauged by the desperation among the opposition to cobble a united front against the Modi government.

“Why are the opposition parties uniting? It is because Modi has sealed all the doors which helped them to mint money. Look at the leaders who are part of this mahagathbandhan. They all are involved in one scam or the other,” he said.

Talking about the suggestions for the Sankalp Patra of the party, Naqvi said all the suggestions given by the people were sent to the control room within 24 hours and placed before the committee headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

“The good suggestions of the people will be incorporated in our manifesto and the next five years we will try to fulfil the promises,” he said.
