Amidst slogans of Jai Shree Ram, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had the courage to bring an ordinance to pave way for construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and he would do this with the passage of time.
“We know very well that Prime Minister Modi can make the Ram temple and we are with him. Modiji has resolved several vexed issues and the Ram temple issue can be solved only by him. We believe that one of the way is to bring a resolution and Shiv Sena is ready to support the Bharatiya Janata Party if they bring an ordinance for construction of Ram temple,” Uddhav Thackeray said while addressing a press conference in Ayodhya on Sunday after worshipping at the Ram Lalla temple.
The Shiv Sena chief said the entire country wanted Ram temple at Ayodhya and his party had also said “first temple and then government”.
“We have allied with the BJP only for the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya. Now that the BJP has got full majority, the process for construction of Ram temple should start,” the Shiv Sena chief said and added: “The government should bring an ordinance for construction of Ram temple. The issue concerns all Hindus and the temple has to be constructed at the earliest.”
He also raised the slogan “kanoon banao, mandir banao (Make a law to construct temple)”.
The newly-elected 18 Lok Sabha members of the Shiv Sena along with party chief Uddhav Thackeray, his wife and son Aditya, offered prayers at the Ram Lalla’s makeshift temple in Ayodhya on the eve of the first sitting of the new Lok Sabha on Monday.
Expressing his close attachment to Lord Ram and Ayodhya, Thackeray said, “I want to come here (to Ayodhya) regularly but if I do so people will say I am doing politics. But this time I wanted my new MPs to start their Lok Sabha session after taking blessing from Lord Ram.”
While 10 Shiv Sena MPs reached Ayodhya on Saturday evening, and rest along with Uddhav Thackeray and his family reached the city on Sunday morning.
Uddhav Thackeray and his family had worshipped at the Ram Lalla temple on November 25 last before the Lok Sabha polls.
Police had a hard time in controlling the crowd and had to use some force when some local Shiv Sainiks protested on not being allowed to meet Uddhav Thackeray.
