A day after hardened criminal Ajay Sahu alias Jitu was nabbed during an encounter by the Choudwar police and the Special Squad, police on Monday arrested three more persons—Jitu’s mother, sister and girlfriend— for being active partners in his crimes.
After Jitu was arrested, he revealed during his interrogation that his mother, sister and girlfriend helped him carry out his criminal plans. He said that these three used to help him sell the items looted by him.
Based on the revelations, a team of Commissionerate police immediately swung into action and arrested the trio. “During the course of investigation, it was found that Jitu’s mother, sister and girlfriend were actively involved in the crimes. They used to guide him, harboured him apart from helping in selling the looted items. We have seized stolen Mangalsutras, gold chains and rings from their possession,” said Cuttack DCP Akhilesvar Singh.
