The State Government on Saturday directed all educational institutions to begin morning classes from April 2 as a preventive measure against a possible heat wave situation.
The School and Mass Education Department, in a letter to all educational boards, asked them to take precautionary and preparatory measures in all educational institutions including public schools and privately-managed schools to reschedule timing of classes between 6.30 am and 10.30 am.
The school authorities were asked to serve midday meals at 10 am and close the schools by 11 am. Instruction was issued to complete all assessments and examinations by March 30.
While the new academic session 2019-20 will begin from April 3, summer vacation will start from May 6.
