Chhattisgarh industries minister Kawasi Lakhma, who led a delegation to Canada, signed two strategic memoranda of understanding (MoU) for promoting investment in automotive, agriculture and food processing sectors on Monday.
The Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation signed the MoU with Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce and Canadian Association of Moldmakers (CAMM).
The MoU has been signed for development of modern infrastructure facilities for the food processing sector in the state as well as to facilitate the transfer of technology between Canada and India in food processing, fruit and vegetable processing and non-timber forest produce manufacturing.
Industries minister also held discussions with Indian industrialists, mainly auto-parts exporter Himpreet Singh, Engineering products manufacturer Rajat Handa, Engineering Export Promotion Council, Government of India's senior director Deepak Thakur for value addition of products in the state. Chief Secretary Sunil Kujur and ACS Finance Amitabh Jain made a presentation about investment opportunities in Chhattisgarh.
