Approval to 10 per cent reservation to economically weaker section (EWS) was given in a State Cabinet meeting held here at Mantralaya on Wednesday.
Benefit of reservation will be availed by those people, who do not have an annual income of over Rs 8 lakh, do not hold more than 5 acre agriculture land (excluding barren land), do not possess over 1200 square feet size area house/ flat in municipal corporation area, do not possess over 1500 square feet size area house/ flat in municipality area and over 1800 square feet size house/ flat area in Nagar Panchayat area. No limit has been determined for rural areas.
In order to promote tourism, amendments have been made in Hotel Bar License System. Under this, ten percent more license fee will be taken for each additional bar to run bar at more than one floor. Provision of minimum 25 rooms in hotel has been made to obtain new hotel bar license. Twenty five percent increase has been made in the fixed holding capacity of liquor for bar license.
The cabinet has taken a decision for amendment in prescribed norms for Resort Bar (FL3A) license and to approve license in other tourism areas in addition to wildlife tourism areas.
Similarly approval has been granted to provide liquor facility elsewhere in the premises in Hotel Bar (FL3), Resort Bar (FL3A), Civilian Club Bar ( FL4) and Commercial Club (FL4A) licensees by depositing 15 percent additional amount. In addition to this, approval has been granted for supplying liquor from the Foreign Liquor Warehouse to Hotel Bar and Club License same as hotels of special category.
Besides, in order to ensure adequate revenue, it is mandatory for the bar licenses to follow the condition of getting themselves registered under the VAT and GST and its liability.
The cabinet has granted approval to prepare tripartite agreement (MoU) between the Union Government, State Government and Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Company Ltd. for Bhopal/Indore Metro Rail. The Chief Secretary and Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Metro rail Company have been authorized to sign agreement on behalf of the state government.
Besides, the cabinet has given approval of Rs 41.65 crore for the year 2019-20 for continuation of the Information and Technology Scheme under the Commercial Taxes department.
