Exhibiting an impressive performance at the Asian Sailing Federation Youth Cup, the players of Madhya Pradesh Water Sports Academy bagged second and third positions.
It is to be noted that the championship was organised from February 12 to 17 in Hong Kong.
The winners met the Director Sports and Youth Welfare S. L. Thoussen here on Friday. He congratulated the winners.
Sports Director Thoussen encouraged the players for their best performance.
While representing the Indian team in the Asian Sailing Federation Youth Cup, Academy's player Rammilan Yadav won the second position in the boys' laser 4.7 event and Academy player Uma Chauhan won the third place in the event.
Rhetika Dangi finished at seventh position.
Academy participants Jaideep Thakur and Shradha Verma also participated in the competition.
Five of the seven players in the Indian team were from the Academy.
It is worth mentioning that the coach of the Academy, Arjun Avardi, Chief Coach, L. Yoga and Assistant Trainer Anil Sharma are training the players.
Meanwhile, in the 9th Junior National Hockey Championship played in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, the players of Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy performed brilliantly, defeating Manipur Hockey 5-0 points and had a one-sided victory.
In the league match played at Pool B, Academy player Ali Haider started the winning team in the third minute by scoring the first field goal.
In the 9th minute, jersey number 9 Ali Akhtar scored the field goal and went ahead to the team 2-0.
