The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine of the Government Doon Medical College hospital which had developed a snag on August 3 has been repaired. The important radio diagnostic machine became operational on Monday. This machine was forced to bear additional load ever since the CT scan machine of the department of Radio diagnosis of GDMC hospital went out of order. The malfunctioning of the important machine had made things difficult for the patients already suffering due to absence of CT scan facility.
The associated hospital of the GDMC is only facility in Dehradun and nearby districts where facility of MRI is available in a government centre. More than 30 MRIs are done by the machine in a day.
Interestingly this important machine has a habit of getting broken down regularly. It has developed snags many times in past. The doctors of the hospital admit that the machine has now become obsolete and should be replaced.
