Muskan bags silver at Table tennis competition

On the last day of ‘Khelo India Youth Games organised from January 9 to 20 in Pune of Maharashtra, Muskan Tiwari of Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy won silver medal today. Second place was bagged by the state in overall competition in Table tennis under 17. The state was honoured with the runner up trophy.

Muskan Tiwari brought laurels to the state in the final competition of compound under-21 girls category of archery played on Sunday by clinching silver medal with 144 point. She lost gold medal by just one point.

Anita Kumari of Jharkhand won gold medal with 145 points, where as the third place was bagged by the player of Rajasthan, Swarna Jhavar with 141 points.

It is to be highlighted that Muskan is receiving training from the Chief Coach Richpal Singh Salariya at Madhya Pradesh Archery Academy, Jabalpur.

A total of 31 medals including 8 gold, 8 silver and 15 bronze have been won by the players of the state during the Khelo India Youth Games. Out of this, total 22 medals including 6 gold, 5 silver and 11 bronze medals have been won by the players of the Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy.

The players of the state sports academies have bought laurels to the state by winning total 22 medals including 3 gold, one silver and 3 bronze medals by the players of Shooting Academy, 2 gold and one silver medal by the players of the Boxing Academy, one gold, one silver and 4 bronze medals by the players of the Athletics Academy, One silver and 3 bronze by the players of the Boxing Academy, one silver by the player of the Archery Academy and one bronze medal by the player of the Judo Academy.

Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare Jeetu Patwari has lauded the performance of the players of the state at Khelo India Youth Games. Congratulating all the medal winners, Patwari said that our players have brought laurels to the state by winning medals at the Khelo India Youth Games. The Director Sports and Youth Welfare SL Thousen has also congratulated the medal winners for winning medals at the Khelo India Youth Games.
