The exit polls coming out on various television news channels regarding the Lok Sabha elections clearly point towards the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) achieving a resounding majority to once again form the government at the Centre under the leadership of Narendra Modi. The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said this on Sunday evening in response to the exit polls being broadcast on various news channels. He expressed confidence that in Uttarakhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party would win from all the five Lok Sabha constituencies.
The chief minister said that the public had stamped its approval on the works undertaken in the past five years by the Modi government for the welfare of the poor, servicemen, farmers, women and youth. “In these five years, the people have seen a government oriented towards the welfare of the poor, which gave a fillip to development and provided corruption-free and transparent governance. A clean and transparent system of governance has come in to place. Today, every rupee released by the Central Government is going directly into the bank accounts of the poor as the role of the middlemen has been eradicated.
Various schemes were initiated for the welfare of farmers while about 10 crore poor families in the nation are being provided free health care facility. Under Narendra Modi’s leadership, the nation’s armed forces have gained in strength with various latest weapons also being procured. The morale of the army men at the borders is also high even as India as emerging as a global superpower. Due to the PM’s able diplomacy, India is making its presence felt as a power from the economic, strategic and cultural aspects. These things were somewhere in the minds of the people when they voted which is why they have shown overwhelming support. This is also the picture which is emerging from the exit polls,” said the chief minister.
