People of Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi on Sunday thanked Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel for fulfilling their long- pending demand for a new district.
Around 300 residents from the newly declared district called on the CM at his official residence in Raipur. Forest minister Mohammed Akbar and school education minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam were also present there.
The people said that it was a long- pending demand of the area as even for small works, they had to go to Bilaspur, spending the whole day in the process.
With the formation of the new district, the administration will come closer to them and they will also get benefit of different social welfare schemes with ease. Now, they will not have to travel to Bilaspur for different works.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said soon new collector and other administrative officers will be posted in the new district.
He said in the nearest district, the Lemru Wild Elephant Reserve will be set up where the pachidrums would be provided natural habitat for their conservation and protection. It will help to end the human-animal conflict, loss of property and life.
