New record of maximum power demand noted in MP

Today on January 4, another new record of maximum demand for power has been created in Madhya Pradesh. The maximum demand for power in the history of the state crossed 13,950 MW at 9.15 am on January 4 which was met out successfully. There was no interruption in supply of this maximum demand anywhere in the state.

In the history of power in state, new records were created every day for demand of power in the months of November, December and January. The power companies have fulfilled each maximum demand of power successfully. Transmission and distribution network was not affected anywhere in state and power supply was uninterrupted.

Energy Minister Priyavrat Singh said that our topmost priority is to supply 24-hour power for domestic use, industries, business etc along with 10-hour quality power supply to farmers of the state. All our power companies are working successfully in this direction.

The maximum demand for power was 13,640 MW on December 24, 13,642 MW on December 25,13,778 MW on December 28, 13848 MW on January 1, 2019, 13,864 MW on January 2, 13,802MW on January 3 and 13,950 MW on January 4, 2019.

On Thursday, at 9.15 am, maximum power demand of 5,374 MW was registered in Paschim Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (Indore and Ujjain division), 4,719 MW in Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (Bhopal and Gwalior division) and 3,857 MW in Purva Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company (Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa division).

Demand for power in agriculture sector constantly on the rise.

Managing Director Sanjay Kumar Shukla said that due to supply of 10-hour quality power in the agriculture sector in Rabi season, the record of maximum demand for power in the previous three years has been in the month of December. A new record has been created in the month of January this year.  The power companies are committed to fulfill the constantly increasing demand for power for agricultural work in the areas of all three power distribution companies of the state.

For the successful supply of power on demand over 13,950 MW in state, the role of State Load Despatch Centre, Control Room of MP Power Management Company Limited and Regional Office, Power Generating Company power houses along with Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company and the control room and field engineers and workers of the three power distribution companies has been commendable.
