With the Naveen Patnaik-led BJD’s landslide victory in the Assembly polls, speculations have now started as to who would get Ministerial berths in the new State Government to be formed soon.
Political analysts speculate that Patanik would take into consideration the important regional, women, tribal and youth aspects while distributing the berths.
It is abuzz in political circles that Patnaik may seek the Governor’s consent to form his Government on May 27 (Monday).
The swearing-in ceremony may be a simple affair in view of the widespread damages caused by Cyclone Fani in the coastal districts.
Many of the young leaders who had left the Cabinet and devoted themselves to the BJD organisational work are expected to get a chance in the Ministry.
All three zones in the State may find balanced representation in the Ministry.
It is also speculated that Patanik may give priority to women in making a balanced Ministry on gender basis.
Meanwhile, Patnaik on Friday resigned as the Chief Minister of his current fourth term. Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal accepted his resignation and requested him to continue in office till the new Government is formed.
