With an aim to implement the vision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for 'Fit India Movement', the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) organised "Yog for Fit India" at Amphitheatre Central Park in Connaught Place.
Emphasising the effect of the diet on our health, Member of Parliament, RK Sinha said that right nutrition and proper exercise including yoga is the basic mantra of fitness and healthy life.
Underlining the importance of the movement, Sharad Tripathi, former MP of Lok Sabha applauded the NDMC's efforts to be first civic body of the Capital to organise such type of programme after launch of the same by Prime Minister.
MLA from Bihar Rameshwar Chaurasia also emphasised the importance of fitness and health for the old age. Secretary NDMC Rashmi Singh said that NDMC strives to promote mental and physical well being of its citizens through organising such outreach programmes amongst public. "Yoga is natural nourishment for our body and the soul for peace of mind. The Council will organise a series of such outreach programmes on "Fit India Movement" at different locations like parks, gardens and schools of New Delhi area with support of experts from different fields," she said.
A practitioner of facial yoga, Mansi Gulati explained the importance of "Face Yoga" and Acharya Vikramaditya from Vivekananda naturopathy centre presented "Instant Yog" and connected the yog and yogasans with daily routine of life. Eminent singer Daler Mehndi motivated the young audience by giving examples that fitness is very important to be successful in every sphere of life.
