No drinking water for Pallahara villagers for a month

Monday, 23 September 2019 | PNS | PALLAHARA

Thanks to noncooperation and negligence of RWSS and panchayat officials, two tube-wells lying defunct for over a month in Jharabahal village of Batisuan panchayat in Pallahara block are yet to be mended.

Two months ago while one tube well was defunct, the villagers had complained in the panchayat office, but the officials did not take any action. Then another tube well became defunct due to overuse.

When the villagers complained, the authorities in GP, RWSS and block had assured to repair the tube wells within two days, but they failed to keep their words.

With no option left, the villagers are taking water from the Rengali dam which is at 3 km distance from the village. Even the female representatives of four SHGs had gone to GP office and complained about the matter but in vain.

There are over 300 people residing in the village. Now, all the villagers are suffering because of non-availability of drinking water.

The villagers said that even their appeals to the local MLA and MP had fallen on deaf ears.
