No phone tapping in my regime, assures Baghel

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel addressing the alumni meet at Nagarjuna Post-Graduate Science College, in Raipur on Sunday indicating former chief secretary Vivek Dhand sitting beside him, said, “earlier he used to interact through WhatsApp call and feared to talk through mobile phone.” 

“It should not have happened, now in Chhattisgarh no phone tapping will be done. As long as I remain as Chief Minister, nothing of this sort of thing (phone tapping) will happen,” assured Baghel.

While referring to Congress coming into power in the state after a long time, Baghel said after 18 years, power has come in hands of local residents of Chhattisgarh (Chhattisgarhia).

He stated that people in Chhattisgarh now should feel that the new Congress government is their own government. The Congress government has completed two months in the state on February 17.

Baghel’s visit to Science College was his third visit since he took oath as chief minister of the mineral-rich state. Baghel said, “after meeting my old friends at the college function I feel like reunion of twin brothers having lost in a fair.”

Making a call to students, Chief Minister said, “everyone should join hands to make a beautiful Chhattisgarh. Now time has come to fulfill the dreams of freedom fighters and the ancestors so that it becomes developed and prosperous state. State government is taking quick decisions for it.”

On the occasion, Chief Minister felicitated Colonel R P Pandey, father of martyr Second Lt Rajiv Pandey, Govind Verma brother of late SI Yugal Kishore Verma were felicitated with shawl, shreefal and memento. Former Students of College handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to Principal Dr D N Verma. On demand, Chief Minister sanctioned the permission for holding different events at Pt Deendayal Upadhayay Auditorium by Science College as it has been built on college land.

Advocate General Kanak Tiwari presided over the function while Padmashri Dr A.T.K Dabke, former Chief Secretary and RERA chairman Vivek Dhand, former MLA Dr Shakrajeet Nayak were present as special guest.
