A movie Antardhwani (inner voice) in which a Dehradun resident Himanshi Patwal worked as a production designer and art director was screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2019 in France. Sharing her experiences she stated that nothing is impossible for a woman if she decides to achieve her goal.

Sharing her experience of working in the movie she said that working for two years in the movie physically challenged her though it was overall a great experience.

Antardhwani is based on a psychological thriller concept and a part of the movie was also shot in Haldwani.

Apurba Kishore Bir who is a nine-time National Film Award winner directed the movie. The movie was screened on May 21 at Cannes Film Festival.

Adding more in this Himanshi said, “We worked in the movie from the year 2017. It has been a great experience. Some of it was shot in Haldwani which can be related to by the audience here.

The movie for us has been a great learning experience. It was challenging but we learned a lot. The screening was also done recently which received appreciation from the audience.”

Discussing the audience for such a movie and how the current scenario is changing she said, “In my opinion if we talk about India the audience is not very tilted toward serious genre movies.

However, the youth I feel is generating interest in it.”When asked about her opinion on few women choosing PD and AD fields she said, “I belong to a Garhwali family and my parents did not show support at first for me being in this line but now they are happy as I am doing well.  I do agree that there are few women in this field but gradually the stereotype is breaking. I see women cinematographers working in this field and getting awarded for it. I think there is no work that women fail to do if they make it their goal.”
