The notification for the second phase of polls in three Chhattisgarh Lok Sabha seats will be issued on Tuesday.
The polling in these three parliamentary constituencies of Kanker, Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon will be held on April 18.
Chhattisgarh chief electoral officer Subrat Sahoo said, “With the issuance of notification, the filing of nomination papers will commence for Kanker, Mahasamund and Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seats.”
The candidates can file their nomination papers during the office hours from 11.00 am to 3.00 pm except for government holidays, till March 26. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on March 27. The candidates can withdraw their names till March 29.
“All the preparations for the second phase of polling have been completed. A total of 48,95,719 electors will cast their vote in three LS seats. Out of the total electors, women electors are 24,63,102, men 2432,554 and 63 are third gender. A total of 6484 polling centres have been set up.”
The third phase of polling is scheduled on April 23 for which the notification will be issued on March 28. In the third phase polling will be held for Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Korba, Janjgir-Champa, Durg and Sarguja Lok Sabha seats.
