NTPC Sipat holds health camp to detect osteoporosis

A health check-up camp for employees and staff was held at NTPC Sipat hospital on Monday. Chief General Manager, NTPC Sipat Padmakumar Rajasekharan inaugurated the camp in presence of A K Choudhary, General Manager (Operations & Maintenance).

Official sources in NTPC, Sipat informed that the health camp was organised to check the Bone Mineral Density (BMD) of the employees and their family members.

Health of a total of 108 people was checked and based on the reports, diet and medicines were referred by specialist doctors. Senior officials, employees and their family members checked up their bone mineral density in this camp.

A bone mineral density (BMD) test measures how much calcium and other types of minerals are in an area of bone. This test helps health care provider detect osteoporosis and predict your risk for bone fractures.

The NTPC official further claimed that the NTPC gives utmost priority to maintain the good health of the employees. As a precautionary measure NTPC Sipat hospital organized this camp to aware employees about the health of their bone and the measures to maintain their health, he added.
