The Union Budget would benefit farmers, youths, women and the poor and States like Odisha would gain much from it.Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said this commenting on the Union Budget presented in the Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmal Sitaraman. He said the Budget would not impose any tax burden on middle-class people.
“States like Odisha will get more benefits from this Budget. A total of 1.25 lakh km roads will be constructed under the third phase of the Prime Minister Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). Rs 80, 000 crore will be spent for the purpose. Odisha will get a lion’s share. Roads will be constructed in all Maoists-hit areas in the State ,” said Pradhan.
He said Odisha would reap highest benefit from the second phase of the Sagarmala Project as it has 400-km coast. Odisha would have a big role in the Rs five-trillion economy, he said.
He further stated that Odisha would get a big share in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana under which two crore houses would be built. “While Chief Minister has sought five lakh houses under the PMAY, Odisha will get more than it,” he said.
