The biggest festival of Kerala was celebrated  at Campion school Auditorium on Saturday.

The event was organised under the auspices of United Malayalee Association (UMA). An exquisite cultural extravaganza depicting the rich culture and traditions of Kerala  was performed to commemorate King Mahabali’s homecoming.

An array of events unfolded after the inaugural session involving P.C.Sharma, Hon’ble Minister, Law, Science and Technology, Religious Endowment, Government of Madhya Pradesh as Chief Guest,  Jitu Patwari, Minister of  Higher Education, Sports and Youth Welfare, Government of Madhya Pradesh as the Guest of Honor Krishna Gaur, MLA, Guest of Honour Rajendra Modi, Industrialist, Special Guest.

Lighting of lamp was followed by traditional Thiruvathira. Ladies in their traditional attire dance and Sway to the song with hands and feet in unison,  captivating dances of children.

To make the atmosphere hilarious, Chakyar kooth, a traditional dance form of Kerala and a highly refined monologue where the performer narrates episodes from Hindu epics and at times makes it a comedy act by incorporating

commentaries on the present scenario, performed by  renowned artist Pothyil Narayana Chakyar and team was also staged.

UMA lead the relief activities for Kerala Flood victims in Bhopal. Besides the contribution in materials, it has constructed a house at Perumbavoor and handed over the keys in March. On this occasion, Chief Guest honored the donors who have selflessly contributed for relief of the Kerala Flood victims 2018.

On this occasion, UMA gave tributes to late Babulal Gaur, former Chief Minister.

Prizes were distributed for the winners of Athapoov (Floral Rangoli) competition, and various other games held on September 8 at  Sree Narayana Mission Auditorium, Subhash Nagar. Meritorious students of class 10th, 12th and other excellent in various fields were felicitated and awarded on this occasion. The auditorium was packed to capacity.

Ashokan C, President welcomed the guests and K Bhuvanendran, Secretary read out the report of the association and Mr Byju P George, Cultural secretary proposed vote of thanks.
