Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Tulsiram Silawat gave instructions for action against one doctor and four medical staff of JP Hospital for negligence. He said that if need arises, then strong action will also be taken to improve arrangements of the hospital.

Silawat further mentioned that improvement must come in the arrangements at all the district hospitals and health centres of the state. A strong action will be taken for negligence against whoever it is, on whichever post he/she holds. Silawat visited JP hospital on Friday to take stock of health facilities and arrangements at the hospital.

Silawat talked directly with patients present at the hospital. Rekha Soni of Bhim Nagar informed that she could not meet doctor despite her several visits to her chamber. After hearing this, Silawat gave instructions to the civil surgeon to issue show cause notice to the Dr Kamini Shrivastava. Praveen Jain complained that doctor has written four kinds of medicine in the prescription but he has only received one medicine from the medicine distribution centre and has been told that the remaining 3 medicines are unavailable at the centre.

Expressing unhappiness over the dirty bed sheet found in female ward, Silawat instructed for removal of in-charge sister B Bala from the ward and fro issuance of show cause notice. He instructed that bed sheets in the ward should be changed daily and blanket should be given to patients after dry cleaning.

Besides, Silawat also conducted inspection of registration counter at the hospital. Several patients told him that they have to stand in queue for at least 2 hours for registration. On hearing this, Silawat said that number of registration counters should be increased. He also took stock of drinking water arrangement at the hospital.
