Hanumanganj police has nabbed a 45-year-old man near Nadra bus stand and recovered a country-made pistol and one live cartridge from his possession late in the evening on Sunday.
According to the police, acting on a tip off regarding carrying of firearms near Nadra bus stand a team rushed to the spot and started to search for the person with the provided description and after the person was spotted police team tried to nab him but he spotted policeman and tried to escape but was chased and nabbed by police.
In the initial investigation, police found that the accused was carrying a country made pistol and a live cartridge from his possession and when he was questioned regarding the firearms he was not able to provide any details of keeping the country made pistol illegally. The accused was identified as Ravi Udenia of Koh-e-Fiza.
After the preliminary investigation, the police have registered a case under sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act and have started investigation to unearth the network of supply and demand.
The details of the accused that he wanted to sell the firearms or he was on his way to commit crime could not be ascertained and would be investigated in the further investigation.
Based on the details, police have started investigation regarding the buyer and seller involved in the network.
The source from which the accused has procured the country made pistol and cartridge are yet to be identified said police.
