Ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections 2019, the Statistic Surveillance team of Delhi’s Chief Electoral Office (CEO) which was constituted to keep an eye on the expenses of political parties, has seized a total cash amount of Rs 2,82,22,850 since the model code of conduct came into force on March 10.
The Delhi CEO office has also registered 343 FIR’s have been registered under Arms Act, in which 385 persons are arrested and 1338.4081 Kg narcotics, drugs have been seized.
As per the data shared by the CEO office, “Till date, a total of 3,16,615
hoardings/banners/posters have been removed in all over Delhi out of which 30,533 are removed from New Delhi Municipal Council, 43,075 from East Delhi Municipal Corporation, 2411 from Delhi Cantonment Board, 1,34,553 from South Delhi Municipal Corporation, and 1,06,043 from North Delhi Municipal Corporation.”
Further, a total of 169 FIR’s/Daily Diary (DD) entry have been lodged, out of which, twenty is against Aam Aadmi Party (12 FIR’s and 8 DD entry), twenty three against Bhartiya Janata Party (12 FIR’s and 11 DD entry), Eight against Congress Party (3 FIR’s and 5 DD entry), One against Bahujan Samaj Party (1 FIR) and one against Samajwadi Party (1 DD entry), two against CPI (M) (I FIR’s and 01 DD entry) and 114 (110 FIR’s
and 4 DD Entry) are against under the head of others/non-political.
Besides this, a total of 4593 licensed arms have been deposited and a total of 74415 persons have been booked under various sections of CRPC/Delhi Police Act, as preventive action measures. The Excise department has seized 1373 bottles, 103 Half, 142793 quarters of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 949 bottles, 1231 Half; 272679 quarters of Country liquor and 6963 bottles beer were seized. A total number of 950 FIR’s have been registered in Excise Act and 949 persons are arrested in Excise Act.
Also, a total number of 29 cases have been lodged against the violation in other cases (misuse of vehicles, violation of loudspeakers, illegal meetings and gratification of electors, etc).
The Lok Sabha polls in Delhi will b held on May 12 and the overall results will be declared on May 23.
There are over 14224677 crore voters on Delhi’s
electoral roll, out of which 2,04,420 are in the age group
of 18-19, Singh had said, adding, out of the total electorate size of 1,40,80,442, as many as are 825361male and 6398565 female, while 751 belong to third gender. The number of overseas electors stands at 40.
