Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board along with ‘Adventure and You’ is organising its annual flagship event- “The Pachmarhi Monsoon Marathon’ on July 21 at Pachmarhi. Rated as one of the most elegant hill stations in India, Pachmarhi majestically also known as ‘Queen of Satpura’ is situated at the heart of Incredible India – Madhya Pradesh.
After receiving the outstanding successful feedback in its first edition, MPTB is organising the marathon for the second time in Pachmarhi. The main aim of the marathon is to promote the aesthetic beauty of Pachmarhi in monsoon by having a ‘Fun Run’ an giving a basic ideation involving the discipline of health and fitness, besides promoting the active holiday concept for all members in the family enjoying holidays. The organizers of the event ‘Adventures & You’ has made it a tradition of organizing marathons on such a scale that any person of any age can participate in the run. The Monsoon Marathon is segregated into three distinct categories – 21 km, 10 km and 5 km with different age sub- categories. The three distance categories of 5KM, 10 KM and 21 KM are named as ‘Family Fun Run’, ‘Endurance Run’ and ‘Dhoopgarh hill run’ respectively. It is estimated that 800-1000 runners, spanning all over and across India, will attend the Monsoon Marathon in Pachmarhi. This event will definitely give a boost to the local hotel business because during monsoon marathon most of the hotels are fully booked during this week.
Speaking on the occasion, senior officials of Madhya Pradesh Tourism said “We are extremely delighted to associate yet again with ‘Adventure & You’ and the Monsoon Marathon concept. The backdrop and geographic setting of Pachmarhi is a paradise for nature lovers, professional shutterbugs and tourists from all over the globe. It is a brilliant initiative to market and promote adventure tourism in the tourist friendly state of Madhya Pradesh.”
Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board will greet all the runners with T-shirt, RFID Timing chip, Route support, Finishers Medal, E- Certificate, and post run refreshments. For top 3 race winners, trophies and surprise prices will be distributed. The broader picture behind such an initiative would be to create awareness and to boost monsoon tourism in the state by highlighting a premium assortment of destinations.
