Painting competition held on World Sparrow Day

Bhopal Birds, Bhopal and Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal jointly organised a painting competition for the students of schools and colleges in association with Madhya Pradesh State Biodiversity Board, Bhopal on Wednesday on the occasion of World Sparrow Day.

As many as 150 students participated in the competition. Prize Distribution Programme was also held. Chief Guest of the programme was Pradeep Nandi, Director, NCHSE, Bhopal. Special Guest of the programme DK Swami was from VNS Nature Savioors, Bhopal. PP Singh from Madhya Pradesh Madhyam,Bhopal was the other Participants. Teachers and Parents were welcomed by Mohd Khalique.

During his speech, DK Swami told that if we did some works towards the conservation of nature, it means we did it for us. He informed that awareness is necessary towards conservation of sparrow.

Chief Guest Pradeep Nandi told, “We can conserve the sparrow to provide the space around our house for nest and availability of water in urban areas.” Chief Guest and other guests distributed the Sparrow Mitra Award to Aranya Anand, Antriksh Sethiya, Satish Prajapati, Sourabh Malviya, Ratnesh Joshi, Amol Aadholiya, Nandni Jatav, Tanuja Soni and Durlabh Gupta.

The winners of Painting Competition received their prizes from Chief Guest and other guests. In the junior category, Master Aadya Shukla won the first prize. Awantika Patel & Master Mukesh Singh bagged the second & third prize respectively. In the Senior category, Master Antriksh Sethiya won the first prize. Riya Jain & Mehal Aajmera got the second & third prize respectively.

At the college level, Prachi Keer was awarded the first prize. Atul Patel & Nishi Patidaar bagged the second & third prize respectively.

Similarly, Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions organised by Regional Museum of Natural History, Bhopal. Shivani Maheshwari from Carmel Convent Sr Sec School, BHEL, Bhopal and Payodhi Agrawal from Sharda Vidya Mandir, Barkhedi Kalan, Bhopal won the first prize of (Debate Competition) for the motion; Master Aarya Garg from Carmel Convent Sr Sec School, BHEL, Bhopal & Kripali Shahiwala from Mother Teresa Sr Sec Co-ed School, Kolar Road, Bhopal won the first prize (Debate Competition) for against the motion organised on November 22, 2018; Aishwarya Singh from St Mary’s Convent Sr Sec School, Tulsi Nagar, Bhopal got first prize of Best Out of Waste Exhibition Cum Competition organised on November 30, 2018; Students of Aranya Welfare Society, Bhopal bagged first prize for the Environmental Song Singing Competition organised on December 20, 2018; Master Pushpendra Kurmi from Govt. Blind & Deaf Higher Secondary School, Bhopal won the first prize of Poster Making Competition organised on January 17, 2019.
