East Singhbhum district education department organised a first of its kind district level workshop on Abhibhavak Diwas and Swachhata hi Seva campaign at the Michael John auditorium on Wednesday. More than 100 PRI members from across blocks of East Singhbhum, teachers and department officials  participated in it. East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla was the chief guest on the occasion.

The State will also celebrate Abhibhavak Diwas on September 13 and 14 to involve parents in various initiatives that include an increase in school attendance and bring better results. "Abhibhavak Diwas is an important step to attract students and parents. It is important that PRI members and parents work together for the development of schools with special focus on water conservation and cleanliness activities," said Shukla.

According to datas, only 66 per cent students in Jharkhand are regular to school and thus involving the PRI members are parents are a way to try and increase the attendance level

in each school. The district education department is keen to increase girls schools in district to help them in filed of education. The department is focussing on leveraging education for socio economic change and providing better opportunities for girls. “If a girl is educated, her entire family will benefit from it. Children learn from their parents. When parents are unable to assist with fundamentals such as reading, children will be less prepared and less likely to succeed in school. When adults with low literacy are educated, it allows them to help kids learn and take part in education,” said an official of  department.
