Party sponsoring Johar Yatra: BJP

Wednesday, 16 October 2019 | PNS | Ranchi

State BJP sharply reacted on JMM’s allegations that Chief Minister Raghubar Das is misusing Government machinery and funds during his Johar Jan Ashirwad Yatra. State BJP Spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said on Tuesday that JMM has been habitually presenting wrong facts. He said that the JMM’s allegation is baseless that the CM is misusing Government funds in his Yatra.

The BJP spokesperson said that his party is sponsoring the Johar Jan Ashirwad Yatra. “The BJP is bearing all the expenses of the vehicles, on which the Chief Minister and the workers are taking the tours.

Since the Chief Minister has Z-plus security, the Government borrows the expenses of the security and the personnel engaged in protecting them like other States.

During the Jan Ashirwad Yatra, if the CM has to go to any Government programme, he leaves the entire convoy of the BJP and goes to the venue by the Government car and then after the programme is completed, he returns by the government car.

People come to the Ashirwad Yatra and board the vehicle provided by the party. He neither uses the vehicles with party’s flag in Government programmes nor does he uses the Government machinery in the Yatra organised by the party,” said he.  Pratul said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha probably has an old habit of misusing the state exchequer. “Then Chief Minister Hemant Soren had gone to Goa for a long holiday on Government expenses.

During Badlav Yatra of Hemant the Government had borne the expenses of security forces, but the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha does not see it. I challenge the JMM to prove that the Chief Minister has misused the Government machinery during the Jan Aashirvad Yatra or else publicly apologize to the party for misrepresentation.  The CM is getting huge public support during his Yatra and frustrated with that, now the leaders of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha have started putting up poor statements on a personal level.

The people are watching. Last time only Guruji was defeated. This time his entire clan will be politically wiped out,” said Shahdeo.

Earlier, JMM General Secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya said in a press conference that the CM is not only using Government machinery during his Yatra but also taking part in Government events wherever he is going. “The BJP says that the Johar Yatra is political, but it is purely a Government Yatra. At every halt during the Yatra Government programmes are being organised. Government money and machinery are used for these events. The CM is unable to hold political programmes,” he said.

“The CM’s anguish and frustration is coming out now. The way government machinery is being used is not politically and morally correct. At one hand health facilities in State are in a shambles, law and order situation is at the lowest ebb,” said he citing several incidents of the recent past.
