Alarmed by spike in the cases of dengue in Dehradun, the state health department has decided to undertake a survey of the houses where dengue larvae are found. Penalty would be imposed on the owners of the houses where the larvae are found. This decision was taken during a high level meeting in the state health directorate on Thursday.
In the meeting, the mission director(MD) of National Health Mission (NHM), Yugal Kishore Pant directed the senior city health officer of Dehradun, Dr Kailash Joshi to undertake a survey of the dengue affected areas and impose penalties where larvae of Aedes mosquitoes are found. In the meeting, the director general (DG) of health services, Dr R K Pandey said that a health advisory to all the districts has been circulated on dengue.
